'Fresh Paint' Auction to Benefit UA Museum of Art

Completing the perfect piece of art can take time, but next week artists from the University of Arizona and the Tucson community will be tasked with creating last-minute paintings and drawings for a fundraising event to benefit the UA Museum of Art.

The inaugural Fresh Paint fundraiser challenges local artists to create a one-of-a-kind two-dimensional art piece to be created some time between Sunday and the day of the event, which is Nov. 14. The donated artworks will be exhibited and auctioned off during an evening of food and entertainment at the museum. read more »

Budget Redesign Introduced to Faculty Senate

Under an ongoing budget redesign effort introduced to the Faculty Senate on Monday, undergraduate tuition dollars would be allocated to colleges based on their enrollment and the amount of teaching they do.

Still in its early stages, the redesign "is probably the most complicated, in-depth redesign of the University budget ever," Provost Meredith Hay told the senate. She urged faculty members to be patient as the process moves forward in the months ahead. read more »

Vaillancourt Wins National Honor for HR Video

Allison Vaillancourt, the University of Arizona's vice president for human resources, was honored this month by a national organization for her role in creating a harassment prevention video for use on college campuses nationwide.

The College and University Professional Association for Human Resources presented Vaillancourt with the organization's Kathryn G. Hansen Publication Award, named for a former president of the organization, during its national conference in Las Vegas, held Oct. 19-21. read more »
