The UA BETA networking group is hosting its annual Open Enrollment dinner on Thursday, October 15 from 5-8pm in the Rincon Room of the Student Union.
The keynote speaker will be Leslie D. Porter, Director of Recruitment and Employee Advising in the UA Human Resources Department. Her address is titled, "Starting Fresh Without Starting Over: Taking Charge of Your Career."
Keynote Address:
Does your career path look like it needs to take a detour? Are you wondering if you can reinvent your career without quitting your job? What does "job advancement" look like in today’s economic climate?
A turbulent economy and budget uncertainties has caused many people at the U of A to re-think their careers – sometimes without choice. Some sense that they aren't going to continue on their current path, but don't know exactly how the new path looks. Others feel that they are slated in a role without growth opportunities, or one that no longer inspires them. Finally, some employees are seeking opportunities to reposition themselves through all the change and transformation. In this engaging Keynote address, you will hear key strategies for taking a thoughtful, realistic and proactive approach to figuring out your next career steps.
